The right pre-wedding shoot location in Bangalore isn’t the most famous one. It’s the one that gives you two or three different looks without hours in the car, and that suits the two of you. These are the kinds of places we keep coming back to.
Heritage and old stone
Old temples, palaces and stone corridors look rich in both casual and traditional clothes. Long rows of pillars give depth, and the shade keeps faces soft even when the sun is high. Inside the city, Bangalore Palace and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace are the best known. Further out, the temple towns towards Mysore and the old ruins around the state have a lot more space and fewer people.
Most protected sites have rules on cameras and tripods, and many charge for a professional shoot. Check before you plan your outfits around one.
Open fields and big trees
Grasslands and open ground make the simplest, softest photos. Long grass at golden hour, a single big tree, nobody in the background. The Hesaraghatta side to the north of the city is popular for this, and it is closer than most couples think.
Hills and sunrise
Nandi Hills is the classic sunrise shoot. It’s beautiful, and it’s busy, so go early on a weekday. The rocky hills around Ramanagara and Skandagiri give a wilder look, with more of a walk.
Lakes and water
Lakes on the edge of the city and the reservoirs out towards Manchanabele give you water and sky in one frame. They work best in the last hour of light, when the water turns gold.
Private estates and farmhouses
A farmhouse, resort or coffee estate gives you privacy, a place to change, and no crowd watching. For a longer shoot with three outfits, this is often the easiest option, and Coorg and Chikmagalur are a short drive for a weekend.
One good place with three looks beats four places and three hours in traffic.
Choose your poses before you choose your place
The pose often decides the place. A slow walk needs a long path. A quiet, close moment needs shade and no crowd. That’s why our couples build a mood board before the shoot. In your Silver Clouds wedding portal there’s a Mood board tab with poses from our boards. You heart the ones you like, they go on your own board, and we see them while planning your locations.
Watch one of our pre-wedding films
Shruthi and Nikhil spent an afternoon with us in an old courtyard home, in silk and simple kurtas. No big setup, just the two of them, good light and a lot of laughing. This is the film from that day.
Questions couples ask us
Do we need permission to shoot at Bangalore Palace or Lalbagh?
Many heritage spots and public gardens need permission or charge a fee for professional shoots. Rules change, so check close to your date.
How many locations should we pick?
One, or two close together. Every move costs light and energy.
Can we shoot on a weekday?
Yes, and it’s better. Popular spots are much quieter on weekday mornings.
