Wedding Photographers in Bangalore: 9 Questions to Ask Before You Book

There are hundreds of wedding photographers in Bangalore, and most portfolios look good. The difference shows up after the wedding: who turned up, how long the photos took, and how easy it was to get what you were promised. These are the nine questions we’d ask if we were in your place.

Look past the best ten photos. Ask to see a full wedding.

1. Who will actually shoot our wedding?

Many studios show work by their senior photographers and send someone else on the day. Ask for the names of the people who will be at your events, and ask to see their work, not just the studio’s.

2. Can we see one full wedding, not just highlights?

A highlight reel is the best two minutes from a dozen weddings. A full gallery from one wedding shows how they handle dark halls, crowded stages and the hour when everyone wants a family photo. Ask for one from a venue like yours.

3. How many people will be on the team, and for which events?

Write down every event, from the haldi to the reception, and ask who covers what. A small morning ritual and a reception with 800 guests need very different teams. If the answer is vague, the quote will be too.

4. What exactly is included?

Number of edited photos, length of each film, album size and pages, travel, and whether you get every photo or only the selects. Get it in writing, in plain words, before you pay.

5. When do we get our photos, and how will we know where things stand?

Delivery time is the most common complaint couples have about wedding photographers. Ask for a date for each item, and ask how you’ll be kept updated without having to call and chase.

6. How do we ask for changes?

At some point you’ll want a photo brightened or a song swapped in your film. Ask how many rounds of changes are included and how you tell them exactly what to change.

7. How do we pay, and do we get receipts?

You’ll pay large amounts in instalments. Ask for the schedule up front and a receipt for every payment.

8. What happens if it rains or the timing changes?

Weddings run late. Ask what happens if a ritual moves by two hours, or the pre-wedding shoot has to be pushed because of weather.

9. Can our families see the photos easily?

Parents and relatives will want the photos too, often on their phones. Ask how the photos are shared and whether family members can find the ones they’re in.

A portfolio shows the best day. Questions show every other day.

How we answer these at Silver Clouds

Every couple who books with us gets their own private wedding portal. It is one link that holds everything: your schedule, payments and receipts, your photo galleries, films and album, plus a save the date designer and an RSVP page for your guests.

You can see the status of every film, photo set and album as it moves, so you never have to chase us. When you want a change, you mark it right on the photo or at the exact second in the film. Every film includes two rounds of changes.

If you’re comparing photographers, send us your list of events and we’ll answer all nine questions for your wedding.

Questions couples ask us

How early should we book a wedding photographer in Bangalore?

For weddings between November and February, book as soon as your dates are fixed. Good teams fill their peak dates months ahead.

Should we pick candid or traditional photography?

Most South Indian weddings need both: traditional photographers for the rituals and family groups, candid photographers for the moments in between.

What should we ask to see before booking?

Ask for one complete wedding gallery from a venue similar to yours, and the work of the people who will actually shoot your day.
